How To Find Online Communities For Game Audio

What Are Online Communities?

As the name suggests an online community is a place where people with the same interests have built a space to share and discuss specific topics. This usually happens on social media platforms like Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Slack and Discord.

Some communities like the Wwise Wwitches And WWizards Facebook group are more specialised in answering technical questions of specific software while others like the A Sound Effect Discord server are a lot more general.

How Do I Make The Most Of Them?

There are an overwhelming amount of online communities out there and your initial instinct might be to join all of them. However, I personally think that’s not the best tactic as there is simply too much going on to keep track of and you’ll potentially even stop engaging with the group altogether.

So instead I propose following these simple three steps:

  1. Join a handful of groups with topics that particularly interest you.

  2. Be friendly and partake in conversations and discussions.

  3. Contribute to the community, engage in activities and help others.

Where Can I Find Them?

The best way to find online communities is by visiting the Community tab on the top navigation bar of the website or simply clicking on the link below:
